Recent Article Shows Lead in Drinking Water Leads to Higher Miscarriage Rates!

recent article by The Atlantic describes some of the consequences of the recent water crisis in Flint, MI.  As researchers begin to examine data in comparison to healthy water areas in the state.  It is becoming evident that birth rates have declined and miscarriages have increased in Flint, MI.  To check out the article, please click here.

In addition to the bad news coming from Flint, MI, the article does a fantastic job of describing how older housing in poor neighborhoods has contributed to the poisoning of a large portion of low-income families, especially in big cities.

All of this bad news makes it clear that we have to do a better job of increasing awareness of the danger of lead, and lead-based paint. Lead in drinking water leads to higher miscarriage rates!

Please share this article with anyone you know who lives in a house built prior to 1978. It is thought the initial lead poisoning is the most lethal, and that some to of the effects of the poisoning cannot be reversed.
