Frequently Asked Questions
How long will it take for me to receive my safety program?
This will depend on the level of editing you need. Our templates are setup for three different job categories. Most companies can fit into this structure, but some companies will need more detail. So, if you are looking for the out of the box solution our turnaround time can be as little as two weeks. If you are looking for extreme editing that can range from 4 – 6 weeks.
Do you continue to update our safety program as standards change?
Currently we don’t offer this service. There are several reasons for this. Mainly, changes to standards require lengthy research and edits. Each industry will typically experience up to 5 updates to OSHA standards annually, and several other best practice updates. We do offer individual polices for $250 when updates are required.
Will you help with us ISNET, PICS, or MICS approvals?
Certainly, we will not fill out the company information section, however we will load and submit the notes required for each section to get your individual policies approved. This service is more expensive but can be a huge time saver for your staff. Rushed service is available for an additional fee.
How long do we get to review the policy for changes?
One edit is included after the initial policy submission. Based on the sheer volume of information, it should probably take a couple days to read the policy and decide the changes you want to make.
Can a Health and Safety Manual create more liability for my company?
It certainly can, it is extremely important that you read the policy thoroughly and decide what works best for you. Our Health and Safety Manuals are designed to meet approval requirements for several agencies. Some of these requirements can be much more rigid than what OSHA requires. We believe there is no reason to separate the types of safety manuals. Our mission is to reduce workplace accidents and injuries. Simple common sense would tell you that if an approval agency requires it, that the risk is real. Remember some of the OSHA standards haven’t been updated since 1978. If you are looking for the bare minimum safety manual, we are probably not the company for you.
Does your Health and Safety Manual include training requirements?
Yes, each policy breaks down the training required for each job category. There is also a section in the back of the Health and Safety Manual that lists this in a logical form by each training topic. This section can get tricky if your company conducts OSHA Outreach Training every 3 years. Some topics can be covered while completing that training course. So each situation always ends up being a little bit different. When you first look at the list it can seem a little excessive. However, we have several low-cost ways that you can actually take care of these requirements yourself. Contact us for more information on how to do this.
